Saturday Program of the 21st Saltpans Feast Postponed Due to National Day of Mourning
Due to the declared national day of mourning following the passing of the Pope, the Saturday event of the 21st Saltpans Feast, traditionally held in celebration of St. George’s Day, will not take place on April 26th. The event is expected to be rescheduled for the conclusion of the saltmaking season in August.
The Sunday program will proceed as planned. Additionally, the celebration of the Piran Local Community, originally scheduled for Friday, April 25th, will now be held on Sunday afternoon.

Let’s explore Piran salt with all our senses! The Institute for Landscape, Culture, and Art ABAKKUM will guide you into the unknown world of sea salt crystals with an interdisciplinary program. In the beautiful spaces of the gallery and its garden with wisteria, we will discover the shapes of the salt crystal cosmos and life within it, the sounds of the salt crystal in the Sound Landscape of the salt pans and electronic music by DJ Benjamin Shock, as well as tastes in crusted bread with salicornia, crystal-salted cocktails, and cakes.
