One of the best Slovenian pianists PETAR MILIĆ will
present music by L. M. Škerjanc, L. van Beethoven, F. Chopin, J.
Brahms and A. Scriabin.
There Will be a toast with champagne to the new year 2017 after the
concert.
According to experts Petar Milić is considered one of the
best slovenian pianists on an international scale. Born in Kranj, he began with
piano lessons at the age of seven. After primary school he educated himself
simultaneously at Gimnazija Kranj and Music and ballet High school in Ljubljana
in the class of prof. Janez Lovše. He continued his studies at the Academy of
Music in Ljubljana also with prof. Janez Lovše as his mentor. During his
student years he performed all over Slovenia and furthered his education with
renowned international masters such as Arbo Valdma, Igor Lazko, Daniele Alberto,
Pascal Devoyon and Elena Lapitskaja. In 1996 he received a student Prešeren award of the
Academy of Music for his rendition of the 4th piano concert by Ludwig van
Beethoven conducted by Anton Nanut. In 1997 he won the 1st prize at Nikolai
Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Paris. In the same year he was
invited to Rencontres musicales festival in Geneve, Switzerland. Striving to
perfect his knowledge, Milić went to Hochschule der Künste in Berlin (Germany)
for his postgraduate studies, where he was mentored by the famous Klaus
Hellwig. During his studies he performed in Berlin and Hannover on numerous
occasions and also recorded material for RTV Slovenija, the national
broadcaster. The recording of his recital was selected by a jury of european
radio broadcasters to be a part of the 2001 musical festival in Bratislava, an
event initiated by Yehudi Menuhin to promote young musicians. His solo performance was heard by millions of listeners throughout Europe.
As a soloist Petar Milić has so far performed with the Slovene Philharmonic
Orchestra, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, Academia Allegro Vivo
(Austria), the Ljubljana Academy of Music Orchestra and Carnium Chamber
Orchestra conducted by Cristian Măcelaru, Marko Letonja, Anton Nanut, Marko Munih,
Bijan Kadem Missagh, Marko Hribernik and Peter Škrjanec. Additionally Petar
Milić has performed many recitals both at home and abroad. To mention a few, he
has performed in Paris, Berlin, Hannover, Bruxelles, Bratislava, Geneva and
Miami (USA). In Slovenia, he has performed several times at the Slovenian
Philharmonic Hall in Ljubljana, the Union Hall in Maribor, Narodni dom Celje,
Nova Gorica Arts Centre, at the Piran Musical Evenings, Murska Sobota, Tolmin, the Summer Concerts at
the City Museum of Ljubljana, at the Musical Summer festival at Bohinj, at EPTA
conferences etc. In 2011 he qualified as a docent for piano at the Academy of
Music in Ljubljana.
In the last 2 seasons he performed the Haydn D-Dur piano concerto with the
austrian Allegro Vivo orchestra under Bijan Kadem Missagh, the Beethoven piano
concerto Nr. 4 with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra under Simon Krečič, the
Ravel piano concerto and the Martinu concerto with the Slovene Philharmonic
Orchestra under Cristian Măcelaru. In October 2016 he will perform Mozart
D-minor concerto in Bratislava/Slovakia.
A CD with Petar Milić interpreting the works by F. Chopin was published by ZKP
RTV Slovenija in February 2013. A second CD with Beethoven, Brahms,
Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Škerjanc and Skrjabin will be published soon by ZKP
RTV Slovenija.
